as a 6 year old playing renegade Big Bertha traumatised me from women for life

  2. cdbils001 says:

lol yup i remeber playing this at some shitty seaside town

  3. MyFaceIsMadeOfSpoons says:

I don’t really think this game should be called “Below average”, seeing as it’s the game that defined the genre. Sure, it’s not awesome, but it is still good fun and an excellent starting game for Beat ‘Em Ups. Although, DOuble Dragon did set the standard.

  4. thesunhurtsmyeyes says:

hey larry, i love GLRC and was wondering if you got the idea for the opening pictures of the series (the discolored face of who i assume is you, often getting hurt) from the gorrilaz music video ‘rock it’

  5. Donice09 says:

Renegade the final chapter is the worst game ever ! the controls were shit the game play was shit the storyline of travelling through time was shit it was shit!

  6. Donice09 says:

does anyone noice the swaztika on the side f the train in the speccy version at the bottam of the door?

  7. Radicalvegeta says:

kunio kun soccer and kunio kun basketball were the two of the best NES games to be ever made imo :)

  8. chojinkid says:

    lol you’re so british ;D

  9. DavidAndrewJefferson says:

    NO!

  10. kaza12345678 says:

    Yoshihisa Kishimoto is the author.

They are made and moved well edited.
Good luck in the future please

  11. ScrewAttackEurope says:

Indeed, I don’t know why they did that either, as Target: Renegade is regarded as one if not the best beat em up on the Amstrad/Spectrum/Commodore 64.

  12. ScrewAttackEurope says:

Thank you for the kind words.

We are going to make more episodes of this, some about British conversions of famous Japanese games.

  14. SAPSowash says:

That’s weird. Though I’m not surprised considering all the other changes to some titles for Europe.

  15. ScrewAttackEurope says:

It was renamed “Street Gangs” in the UK for some bizarre reason.

  16. SAPSowash says:

Wow. awesome vid! I love beat-em ups. I’ve been wanting to play River City Ransom for some time now.

  17. ScrewAttackEurope says:

    Possibly :D

  18. vincentchps3 says:

lol 0:56 is that a reference to wez?

  19. Nintendavin says:

OOHH… I was thinking about Double Dragon 2 on the Gameboy because that’s actually a Kunio Kun game, but the graphics were changed when it had been released over here in the US.

I did a little bit of research into the Kunio Kun franchise, you see.

Somehow, the Kunio Kun series managed to get a Japanese Comic of it… Yeah, I was like WTF too…

  20. RatedJpG says:

Ironically, the non-canonical NES game Target: Renegade appeared to be more based on the NES version of Double Dragon, rather than the NES version of Renegade/Kunio, and the NES version of Double Dragon II played more like the NES version of Renegade/Kunio.

  21. RatedJpG says:

Arcade version of Renegade/Kunio Kun AND arcade version of Double Dragon II. The original Double Dragon had fixed punch and kick buttons.

  22. Nintendavin says:

Arcade version of Renegade or Double Dragon?

  23. RatedJpG says:

I was talking about the arcade version.

  24. Nintendavin says:

Well, if your talking about the Gameboy version, then it sort of makes sense, but i wouldn’t know why the home console versions would.

  25. RatedJpG says:

Yes, they have the same scheme. “Left Attack” button and “Right Attack” button. In fact, they used this same scheme in Double Dragon II: The Revenge!
