@Boldermonkey
either way, I think thats the real edge of technology. Only a very few handful of people, in any fantasy setting, have magical powers. Mythical animals are few. Etc. Technology gives access to huge powers to anyone.
@Boldermonkey haha, I love the books and obviously I am just kidding, but really, I can think of several situations where some modern tech would have helped them.
the situation is even worse considering they barely have dragon glass (which must be imported from Ashai and Yu Ti), they had only 3 dragons in the last 300 years, and magic… well, there are several people saying they are magicians, but aside some lame weak necromancy and R’hllor´s powers, we rarely see any magic.
@rogerpenna Man they have dragons who needs, fire power when u got dragons
, who needs telenetworks when u got dragons glass, who needs gunpowder when they got magic
@Boldermonkey
No kidding. :rolleyes:
As human knowledge accumulates, the rate of inventions increases and the time between inventions decreases.
Yes, it took thousands of years to invent the wheel, and agriculture. But how long till we invented steel? And firepower? And nuclear weapons?
They have not advanced their technology for 8 thousand years. They had medieval tech 8000 years ago. And 8000 years later, they still do.
@rogerpenna It took us ten thousands of years to invent the wheel, stupid humans of earth
@demonfromwithin Wait until the fourth, you will be dreaming of her head served on a silver plate.
@kimbltree
I think I’ma read the books now! Can’t be bothered waiting for series 2 on TV
@birdcagemind That’s such a good insight actually – one gets the feeling that iif Tyrion didn’t have such a hangup against his father, he’d spare no one, not even bastards, cripples and broken things.
@birdcagemind I’ve never thought of Tyrion as a bully . Even Jaime has some merit to him. Cersei’s a bitch all right XD
Anyone know the song at the very beginning. It’s very haunting.
Where do whores go ?
@paruma0ri EXACTLY!!! Nah haha he comes into the books more, he has a neat personality. A touch of Tyrion to him
@kimbltree Dude, he f*cks his sister! How is that cool?
@paruma0ri Jaime is cool too!
@matdej Behold! It is done!
@birdcagemind
You, ser, made a comment worthy of the seven gods. I’d have knighted you, if I wasn’t just a damn poor lamb man.
Lol I just had a battle on medieval 2 total war with the ASOIAF mod thing and beated the living shit out of the Lannister Army. Even then they flee I overhelmed them with my northern Riders !
@ps8hand Maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye? Maybe.
Can’t stand that cunt Cersei. Tyrian is the only Lannister that is cool! Peter Dinklage sir, you are the MAN!
I’m in love with Jaime. So much. Oh and I think it’s awesome how involved George r.r. Martin is, usually the authors just supervise their movie adaptations from afar but he’s actually helping produce it. So it makes everything that much closer to the books.
@Meshakhad … and three months later Dinklage got what he deserved
@matdej He got it.
“Not quite trustworthy”
Biggest understatement ever, Oathbreaker
@birdcagemind And they’re all inbred?
Sounds pretty much like any place in Texas outside of a large city.
Does Jaime know about Cersei and Lancel???
