@arholguin — If black captures the bishop on d5 with his queen, as in your line, white captures on f8 with check before capturing back the queen, heading into an endgame with a crushing material advantage (Rook on a4 against the lone black Knight).

For the first game, I dont understand why Fischer removed his rook from row 7? It could have been an advantage. Second, If I would be his opposition, instead of moving the pawn to h5, I would have took his queen through my rook from c1 to f1. In return fischer then will have to move rook back to f1 to take black rook, giving check through white bishop. Now, I could take bishop through black Queen. Here, White will have now 2 rook, black will have one rook and one knight, still a good position.
the title says it all! and to think Fischer was just a kid “facing off” two already experienced opponents!!
